In-/sanity
The sculpture 'In/sanity' depicts a male portrait. The figure seems to be torn apart, as if it were pulled back and forth by two opposing forces. The sculpture asks how we cope with the inner and outer conflicts that weigh on us and challenge us. The sculpture expresses the tension and fragility of the human condition, but also the possibility of balance and healing. The sculpture is a work of art that invites us to think and empathize.
The art series ‘contemplation’ explores the idea of duality and emptiness. Duality is having two opposite or contrasting qualities that shape our human nature and creativity. Emptiness is being without content or substance. Emptiness is not nothingness, but rather a potential for something new. Emptiness is the space and the state of mind that let us create, think, feel, and transform. The sculpture inspires its viewer to reflect about ourselves and our inner and outer battles and find our true selves.
