Big Values - values drive behaviors, behaviors cultivate culture and culture creates engagement
The sculpture roots back to my work and how values have become my guiding principles that shape my life, my work, and my engagement with the world. They inspire me to pursue my passion, to respect others, and to learn from my experiences. They also reveal the gaps and challenges that I face in myself and perhaps also the world. The sculpture 'Big Values' is an artwork reflecting on the values that matter to me and the ones that do not. It is a visual representation of my personal value system.
The sculpture ‘Big Values’ is a key work in my portfolio that explores the role of values in human behavior. It consists of 70 spheres, each engraved with two values, one on each side. The sculpture is the starting point of an artistic process that resulted in the art experiment #valuesmatters, where 27 people shared their important and not so important values. The sculpture invites the viewers to question their own values and how they affect their actions and interactions - our social consensus.
#ValueMatters
Values drive behaviors Behaviors cultivate culture Culture creates engagement
This is the essence of #ValueMatters, an art-series that explores how our values shape our lives and the world around us. I asked 27 people to share their 8 most and 8 least important values with me, and I created 23 tiny houses and 18 spheres as 3D prints, reflecting their values and preferences. The series also includes works that reflect the social consensus on values. This project was a journey of discovery and transformation for me, as I learned more about myself and others through the power of values.
#ValueMatters is an art-series that inspires the viewer to reflect, think, and learn about their own values and those of others. It showcases how values drive our behaviors, culture, and engagement in the world.
